  1. Paramount Pictures (Marketing Intenship) Paramount Pictures is a film company that works to distribute entertainment through movies, television, animation, etc… all over the world. They are known for major films such as Transformers, Star Trek, Forrest Gump, A Quet Place, and so much more. They were founded in 1912, and they now have a huge lot consisting of 65 acres in Hollywood. They have a huge worldwide network of offices, and their studios work hard to deliver creative and innovative content. They are able to reach millions worldwide through MTV, Nickelodeon, Bet, Comedy Central, and other major media outlets.

This would actually be a marketing internship, and I am a marketing student, I feel I could learn a lot from them, while also offering them some value of my own to them as well. Although I am barely starting my journey as a marketing journey, and haven’t learned too much from school yet, I would like to say I have other skills I can offer. I myself love doing things that are very hands on and visual, which makes me feel like I would work great there. Also, just growing up in this generation, on my own I feel as though I know a lot about the digital world and how that all works. Plus, because I feel like this is a good experience to show off a creative side, I think I could easily provide new ideas and answers for whatever they throw at me.

2. Netflix (Manager, Content & Marketing Localization Job) Netflix is huge nowadays, and is primarily known as a streaming service for shows and movies. They were founded just a little over 20 years ago in 1997, and now their platform is worldwide, and has a production company. Before they just streamed and offered older movies and shows, but now they do their own Netflix Original series and movies. In terms of their original series, they are extremely known for Stranger Things, Umbrella Academy, and The Crown.

Obviously there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes with Netflix. The users just see what they watch, but there is a lot that goes into promoting new shows and movies and deciding what is going to be streaming in different parts of the world. This would be a full time job, although not maybe what I want to do exactly, because I still don’t know yet, I feel like this would be interesting. In terms of what I could offer, I am very organized, and I feel like witht his job it is important to be a good planner and have a set schedule. WHen it comes to Netflix, things need to be set way in advance, and knowing when things are and keeping people on tasks seems like something that I can do. I’m not sure exactly with what sort of people and teams I am working with, but I am highly motivated and see no problem with collaboritaing and working with others.

3. Youtube (Social Video Strategist and Content Creator, Marketing Job) Youtube, although started only 15 years ago in 2005 by three people, was actually bought by Google the next year in 2006. So now, Youtube is this huge social platform that operates as one of Google’s many branches. Again, when you think of youtube, you think social media, videos, creators, tutorials, shows, etc… and although it is a major platform for all of that, there is a lot that goes on behind the scense as well to ensure youtube is working properly for everyone.

Clearly, I would like a marketing job somewhere in the entertainment industry, but with this job, I think I’d be given some kind of spotlight as well. Again, growing up in this generation, there is no doubt that I know how social media works. There are billions of youtube channels out there, and I would be lying if I said I hadn’t put a video or two up myself. Therefore, I get how Youtube works from the side of a creator. I then think that that would be a huge plus when it comes to actually working for Youtube. In what I can offer, I would say I am very creative and hoesntly don’t have a problem speaking honestly in front of a camera. Then getting to work with and help assist or aid big creators and key influencers sounds fun because working and engaging with other creative people is a key people skill I think I have. Also, just being able to bring people’s ideas to life sounds like a fun challenge I would love to do.

  1. Judy Kim — http://www.judykim.nyc/recipe-index

Through her website, Judy Kim is able to show off her amazing skills and talents as a food stylist. Right when you open the website, it is very clear what she does. Not only is it labled in a clean, simple, minimalist font, the mini gallery of photos on the home page immediately grabs your attention and makes you want to see and learn more. Through browsing her website, I noticed that she doesnt have many photos with her in it, but that is okay, because the point of this website is to show off what she has done and what she can do. The website itself is pretty easy to navigate, and I like how easy it is to see what she does. What I like about her job is that it is easily expressed through photos, it doesn’t necessarily have to be explained with words. Again, even though her face isn’t plastered all over, her work is what is everywhere, and because she is putting the focus on what she has done throughout the years, she presents herself as being very professional.

2. Maya Murillo — http://mayainthemoment.com

Maya Murillo works at buzzfeed, and she comes out in quite a lot of the company’s youtube videos. Her job and what I see her do online looks really interesting to me, and by going through her website, you can really see her fun and creative side. Her website asthetic is quite different from the last one. I wouldn’t call it messy, but I would say more loud, and cute, and creative. There is no holding back, and she is truly showing off who she is as a person. Through a lot of the pictures, you can see a lot that she has done for work or through work, but again, she is in most of the photos, which I think is cool. Her vibe is very no filter, but fun and nice, and overall very creative and artsy.

3. Meggan Stefann — https://megganstefan.com/website-design

Meggan, although I am still confused about what her job is, she and her website interest me. I guess I could say she is like a brand strategist, and helps others with forming their brand. It seems more serious, but after reading about it, there is still a creative component that goes into it. Even though she isn’t as big or well known as the other two people I previously listed, her website looks very professional. I’d say there is a good mix of pictures and text. The site is a little confusing to nagivgate, but that is because she has so much to say and explain on how she helps others through her work. She, and her website have a very clean, professional, minimalistic vibe and tone to it, which can only make me assume that she is a clean, simple and clear person herself. I’d say her website is a good example of what she does, because the point is to help others bring people in, and get them to look for more and want more, and her website made me do just that.

Like I might have previously said, I am a business marketing major, but that does not mean I know what I want to do with my life. I like the idea of business, and maybe entrepreneurship, or just building and working with something big that engages with a lot of people. However, I’d also a havea huge interest in the arts, and being creative, and putting things together that people like to see. I’d say I have side hustles and hobbies, but in terms of real work experience I have none. I have not really focused on anything professionally, and although it might not be a good thing, it is just that I like too many things and love doing and trying out so much, so therefore I don’t know what I want to do. I can’t say I want to be a police officer, or plastic surgeon, or elementary school teacher, because it is not that easy for me. I truly do not know what I want to pursue professionally because I’m all over the place at the moment. It’s honestly a curse that I want to do so much.

In terms of my website, I’m sorry to say that it is probably going to be more of a get to know me, blog, type of thing. Again, I have no real job experience. Ive babysat, tutored, painted some things and gotten paid for it, made some cakes and cupcakes and gotten paid for it, but nothing fancy and professional. Do I take pictures of what I do, of course. So does that mean I am going to call myself a food stylist, I’m not sure, but yea I’d say the pictures are pretty good. My website is just going to be very general in the sense that it’s going to be a collection of pictures of stuff I’ve done over the years. I think the website is going to show off my creative side more than anything. If anything, I will show how attention to detail is important to me, I’m pretty precise I’d like to say, but again I am a freshman in college, so sadly I can’t say that I’ve done much because I spent so much of my time just trying to do decent in school so that I could get into college. I don’t plan on any professionals in my field seeing this, mainly because I don’t know what my field is, so the website/blog will hopefully just showcase who I am as a person, aside from the boring school stuff. Especially if I want to do something having to do with business, I’ve only taken generals right now, so I don’t really have anything to showcase my “business side.”
